The Raising of the Glove Ceremony
This year's ceremony, marking the granting of the Royal Market Charter of 1210, will be taking place on the Minster Green at 11.00am on Thursday 21st June. Axminster Community Primary School will be singing a special song for Axminster. The ceremony will be followed by a performance in the Minster by St Mary's Primary School's Young Musicians as part of the Music in the Minster summer programme.
The Axminster Heritage Centre will be roaming around the market dresses as characters from Axminster's rich history, come along and see who you can spot.
For small children there will be Punch and Judy shows at 1.15pm and 4pm.
Grand Charity Auction of Gifts and Promises
Our very own BBC Homes Under The Hammer auctioneer Graham Barton will be leading the biggest Charity Auction the town has seen. Lots, at the time of writing are:
VIP Exeter Cheifs tickets including an exclusive dressing room tour, drinks and dinner and VIP seating.
A tour of the Houses of Parliament followed by lunch for four with Neil Parish, MP.
A private tour for two of Axminster Carpets factory.

The auction takes place on Saturday 23rd June at The Axminster Guildhall, doors open at 7pm.
Axminster's Big Dinner
Get down to the town centre (Trinity Square, Silver Street and Minster Green) on Friday 29th June from 4pm and enjoy an evening meal with a difference. The street will be full of food producers and street feed traders so you don't need to bring a picnic! We'll have something for all tastes from vegan delights to naughty treats and everything in between.
River Cottage Kitchen & Deli will be holding childrens pasta making workshops, The Castle Inn will be providing the bar alongside Dalwood Vineyard and their wonderful award-winning wines.
Music and entertainment will take place throughout the evening. A real chance to come together as a community and enjoy our wonderful town.
